SOAP & SUBs mean less SCRATCHES
People REALLY underestimate the importance of a good soap and subs combo and how when maintaining your motors paint ( especially after winter ) getting this combo wrong can really damage the paint work and any coatings you have applied .
When it comes to subs , MORE IS BETTER .
A good thick snow foam or subby shampoo really is a barrier between the dirt and whatever mitt your using , ( NO YELLOW SPONGES 🧽 💀❌) helping lift the dirt away from the car instead of running / scrapping it through your paint .
I myself use a 3 stage system when I’m maintenance washing
1️⃣ Start with a jet wash , get all the large lumps of and loose dirt , as you don’t want all that clogging up your mitt.
2️⃣ A very thick thick layer of snow foam ( I normally put in twice as much as the label says 👌💥☃️) and put its all over the car , not forgetting the arch’s . This will help pull all the clingy dirt off the car . Give it 10 minutes ⏰/ a brew ☕️. Jet wash off .
3️⃣: Use a two bucket method , fresh water in one and something really subby in another 🫧.
DO NOT USE FAIRLY LIQUID❌ 🫠 it produce subs but will dry your cars paint out and cause it to fade 💀.
Use something thick like Meguiars Gold Class Shampoo ( and again I always double dose for extra protection between mitt and paint )

Rinse off and dry with your drying towel ( no shammees they scratch like hell and we’re in the 21st century people🫠🤷)
Or if you want to go that one step further use a filter for your house water and then blow dry with a car dryer to prevent water spots and further scratch risk 🏆.
